- This legendary Style was first introduced in World War II in Goatskin. Then due to lack of American Tanned Goatskins it was changed to Cowhide around 1964. The change was in keeping with the Navys policy of using a USA made materials and labor!
Product Description
This jacket was made for us from a military supplier in the regulation Dark Seal Brown Cowhide with the texture of Goatskin It is made to current Military-Spec which require USA Tanned Cowhide Leather; one exception: our collar is real sheep fur (Mouton) rather than imitation - an excellent upgrade. Other features are the #10 Brass Zipper, Inside Windflap, Knit Cuffs and Waistband, Underarm Gussets with Eyelets, Patch Pockets with Pen Slot, inside Gun/Map Pocket, Button Tab under the Collar. This jacket is regular to trim fitting and most customers will order one size larger
